# DeskNotify

> DeskNotify shows internal messages in a notification bar on Windows workstations. Centrally managed and addressed to users and AD groups. DeskNotify is developed by META-LEVEL Software AG (Germany) and runs on-premises in the customer's own Windows environment.

- Product type: internal communication software (desktop notification bar) for organizations with Windows workstations
- Delivery: a notification bar docked to the edge of the Windows desktop that reserves screen space like the taskbar; position, height and font size are adjustable; details open directly from the bar
- Targeting: individual users, DeskNotify groups and linked Active Directory groups (direct memberships)
- Management: templates, color presets, scheduled publication and expiration, automatic deletion after a configurable retention period
- History: read messages remain searchable by title, text or sender
- Permissions: "Manage messages" and "Manage groups", assigned via groups
- Operation: on-premises DeskNotify server running as a Windows service; Windows client for x64 and ARM64; users sign in with their Windows account; real-time delivery with periodic polling as fallback
- Roadmap: clients for macOS and Linux, authentication via OIDC and Microsoft Entra ID (planned, not yet available)
- Pricing (net, excl. VAT): Starter from EUR 4,900 (up to 100 active clients); Business from EUR 9,900 (up to 500 active clients); Enterprise custom (multiple locations or larger rollouts)
